The Koskinas family has proven being a good neighbour
pays off. By turning a run-down gas station into a first class auto shop equipped
with a pioneer gas bar they've made a Scarborough
neighbourhood a better place.
Residents come in and thank the family for
cleaning up and keeping the location open, they also show their appreciation
by dropping by to purchase their gas and to have any of their automotive
repairs looked after.
When Tom, along with his father Spiros and his
brother Paul , first saw the abandoned site at 1161 Kingston Rd they couldn't believe their eyes. The island was stained
with you name it and the concrete was cracked and half an inch off the
ground. The Koskinas boys decided to take a chance and put in an offer on the
site and it was accepted.
The changes have brought neighbourhood support
for the new business and the Koskins family couldn't be happier. The business
is a family affair - Spiros, Paul and Tom are equal partners and the site
promises a good return on their investment.
The location is fantastic. Kingston Rd is a residential /commercial road that gets a lot of
traffic when the major highways are backed up. The traffic is slow so the
people get a chance to see the site.
Pioneer Metro East Area manager Ray Angrove says
he knew the Koskinas family would make the site work because of the people
they are.
